In what many believe to be a reaction to the continued problems with the American medical system, the use holistic health services are exploding, and there does not seem to be an end in sight. Surveys find that between 30 and 50 percent of Americans see a holistic health practitioner, or holistic health product.

The growth of the availability of holistic health services is certainly part of the picture. The increasing popularity of alternative medicine has stimulated an increase in the numbers of holistic health centers, holistic health clinics, holistic health spas, and holistic health practitioners. Holistic healing retreats, once a symbol of new age culture, have become mainstream.

Perhaps the biggest boom has been in the area of holistic health schools and programs. A umber of states have added holistic health certification & accreditation, which has lead to holistic health training programs and a need for holistic health instructors.

Even with this explosion, holistic health services and practitioners can be hard to find. This is especially true in rural areas. In part, because holistic health licensing has not kept up with the demand, there is room for fraud. The issue is not just finding services but finding good services.
